Built from local stone, quarried and prepared on the property, the original Manor House has been preserved from the old Oregon floors, doors and large windows, surrounded by huge verandas, from which you gaze out over 1000‘s of acres of mist belt grassland. Wakecroft is surrounded by old trees and forests, streams and rivers. Black nights bring millions of stars. It is living in your own natural sanctuary.
Boasting 160 years of history, built on a small cliff for spectacular views, the property has been carefully preserved to maintain its original charm while ensuring absolute comfort and the essentials of modern life.

Inside the white picket fence, the old gardens, planted in the late 1800s, are enchanting, while outside, the property, streams, rivers, and forests, is in the process of being rewilded to return it to an African Mistbelt Grassland.
The rewilding of the grasslands means a bouquet of wildflowers, bushes and a variety of wildlife, rare birds, butterflies, indigenous trees, various species of deer, porcupines rustling, African wild cats and so many more rare creatures it is impossible to list them all. Wakecroft House provides the perfect backdrop for any occasion. Every corner of the property invites guests to slow down, breathe deeply, and immerse themselves in tranquility.
Wakecroft offers spacious accommodation, that is light filled, quirky and truly comfortable.
The main house has a games room, dining room, three bathrooms and three bedrooms (one en suite), a library, study and massive farm house kitchen leading onto the terrace where you can sit and watch the small deer drink from the stream. The formal dining room and the drawing room all have original Oregon doors and windows which open out to the verandah, so that the entire space can be enjoyed.

Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts will delight in the abundant wildlife that calls Wakecroft home, and the peaceful surroundings make it a perfect place to reconnect with nature.
